Whether it’s a smart thermostat like Nest or a TRV like Aeotec’s Radiator Thermostat, technology engineered to manage a room’s heating, cooling, and ventilation systems has always been a key-installation in any smart home. But one sensor installed in one corner of a room has never been ideal to manage a HVAC system. Nor has a single sensor ever proved accurate enough. Enter Aeotec’s new, low-cost aërQ Temperature & Humidity Sensor.

This new multi-sensor from Aeotec measures and reports the following data to compatible gateways including AutoPilot and Aeotec’s SmartThings-compatible hub.

  • relative humidity at ranges between 0% and 80%
  • temperatures between -10°C and 65°C (14°F and 149°F)
  • dew point also between -10°C and 65°C
  • poor quality air and the potential of mould spores forming

Sized only fractionally larger than a coin-cell battery, aërQ Temperature & Humidity Sensor is built up Gen7, S2 security, and SmartStart technologies.

It’s also available now in many countries from the likes of Popp.to and SmartMatters.co, with other regions coming close to Christmas. Sign up to alerts here if it’s presently unavailable in your country and we’ll let you know once it’s shipping.
