Micro Switch.

Micro Switch Wiring Schematics

This guide will help you with the wiring of Aeon Labs’ in-wall micro switch. In a lot of the countries where Aeon Labs’ products can be bought, this wiring should only be performed by a licensed electrician. Please stay safe and abide by your local legal requirements.

[Section 1] Micro Switch Wiring Schematics without Live Wires on the External Switch

Live Wires Allowed on the Micro Switch: The Micro Switch can have live wires connected to them, please refer to the wiring diagrams in section 2 below.

External Switch Choices for the Micro Switch: Both a 2-way or a momentary switch will work just fine, they will both turn the switch on/off. I highly recommend that a dimmer switch is not used on the micro switch (its more of an annoyance).

3-Way or 4-Way Switching (WARNING): These wiring schematic will only work with the Micro Switch G2, or Micro Smart Switch G2.

Input Wires: 14AWG copper wires should be used on the output of the 3-way/4-way external switch.

Output Wires: 18AWG copper wires should be used on the output of the 3-way/4-way external switch.

No External Switch Wiring Diagram

For those using their micro’s without an external switch. You can control your lamp without an external switch with any Z-Wave controller, software, and/or the small push button on the back of the micro.

The 2 wiring diagrams below will be basis for every wiring diagram you see for any Micro Switch or Micro Dimmer. You can decide to attach a external switch if you decide to add it in later, refer to the schematics below for reference.

2-Way or Momentary Switch Wiring Schematic Without Live WiringAttaching a 2-way switch or a momentary switch is very simple. Just connect 2 wires to the 2-way or momentary switch then connect the 2 wires (doesn’t matter which way) to the 2 terminals next to the 3V terminal.

I would connect the Micro Switch without any live wiring if you are using the micro with a momentary switch or a 2-way switch. We recommend this, so that you do not have to worry about burning out the micro in case you make the wrong connection on accident, it is much easier to connect the external switch directly to the micro especially on a 2-way.

3-Way Wiring Diagram Without Live Wiring: Connecting the 3-way/4-way external switch can be very complicated and may require you to pull more wires in between the 2 gang boxes. We suggest that you speak to a professional electrician before trying the 3-way/4-way schematics below.
